 Parasites, viruses, and fungi are naturally present in our environment. While many microorganisms are harmless, some can contribute to illness when the body's defenses are overwhelmed or exposure occurs. Western medicine focuses on prevention through proper hygiene, food safety, vaccinations when appropriate, clean water, and evidence-based medical care when infections occur.


A healthy immune system relies on balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, regular physical activity, stress management, and routine preventive healthcare. These healthy habits help support the body's natural ability to respond to everyday environmental challenges.
 

Eastern Wellness Perspective

 

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) emphasizes strengthening the body's natural defenses rather than focusing solely on the microorganism itself. Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) is considered the body's protective energy, helping defend against external influences while maintaining internal balance.


TCM also recognizes the importance of the Spleen, Stomach, Lungs, and Kidneys in supporting vitality and resilience. Healthy digestion, nourishing foods, restorative sleep, emotional balance, and regular movement are believed to help maintain harmony and support the body's natural protective functions.

 God created our bodies with remarkable protective systems designed to help maintain health and resilience. By practicing wise stewardship through healthy habits, proper nourishment, rest, and prayer, we honor His design and support our overall well-being.
